Case study – Food for thought

Face to face case study:

The vital stats 780 respondents recruited in a 12 month period (60 – 70 per month) to test oven chips at a central location. 60kgs of chips cooked to order each month, which equates to 325 servings per month.

The challenge We needed to take full control of the cooking process to ensure consistency across all aspects of product storage, preparation, cooking and serving in order to ensure a consistent testing experience.

The approach Pre-recruited category buyers to central location. Respondents attend for 1 hour to trial 5 samples. All products fully rotated and preparation controlled using a bespoke cooking schedule. Food preparation team all held Food Hygiene certificates.

The results CAWI data collection ensured that results were available within 24 hours. Target sample was 60 but was regularly exceeded and we’ve been running this intensive project on our client’s behalf for 4 years – here’s what they had to say:

“In 2008, regular consumer research became a necessary part of a new project I was undertaking. FieldWork UK were recommended to me and have proved since to be thorough and efficient – their approachability, range of experiences and support network has always helped us find practical solutions. Our project objectives have been met by the team even under difficult circumstances. I thank the team for their continuing support and guidance.”
